Lightboxes, lit letters and pylon signs

Illuminated signs cover a few different builds. A lightbox is a sealed aluminium frame with an opal acrylic face that glows evenly when the internal LEDs are switched on. Face-lit 3D letters light up through the front; pylon and post-mounted lightboxes lift your branding up high where it carries across a car park or off a main road. We design, fabricate and install all of them in-house, so the same team that draws it builds it and fits it.

Local shops like Sanbah, Drift Bikes and 4D Skin Clinic run illuminated signage we've made, alongside larger jobs such as Rip Curl Newcastle and Newcastle Eye Hospital.

Built to stay lit, here in the Hunter

The frames are aluminium, the faces are opal acrylic for even light diffusion, and the lighting is internal LED rather than the old fluoro tubes or neon. LED draws less power, runs cooler and lasts a lot longer, so there's far less chance of a dim corner or a dead tube a year in. With proper maintenance an illuminated sign keeps working for many years.

Brightness is adjustable too. We set it to suit the site, bright enough to read from the road at night, but not so harsh it blows out up close or annoys the neighbours.

Why go illuminated

Newcastle and Lake Macquarie trade well after dark, and the sun's down by late afternoon through winter. An illuminated sign keeps your shopfront working when an unlit one disappears, so customers can still find you and know you're open. If you trade evenings or weekends, it earns its keep every night.

Allow a few weeks from the first consultation through to installation. We'll talk through the site, the best build for it and the look you're after, send a design proof, then fabricate and fit it once you approve.

Answers

Frequently asked questions

What's inside an illuminated sign?

An aluminium frame, an opal acrylic face for even light diffusion, and internal LED lighting. The acrylic spreads the light so the whole face glows evenly rather than showing hot spots or shadows.

Are LED illuminated signs cheaper to run than the old neon or fluoro?

Yes. The internal LEDs we use draw less power, run cooler and last far longer than old fluorescent tubes or neon, so running costs and maintenance are both lower. With proper maintenance the sign keeps working for many years.

Can the brightness be adjusted?

Yes. We can set the sign across a range of LED brightness levels and tune it to suit the site, so it reads clearly from the road at night without being too harsh.

How long does an illuminated sign take to make?

Usually a few weeks from the first consultation through to installation, covering design, your approval, fabrication and fitting on site.

What is the difference between cut vinyl and printed vinyl?

Cut vinyl is a single colour, ideal for lettering and simple logos. Printed vinyl allows full-colour, complex designs and photographic images.

What types of signs do you make?

Shopfronts, illuminated and lightbox signs, 3D lettering, banners, wall graphics, billboards, corflute, window and floor graphics, and more.

What materials do you use for signs?

ACM (aluminium composite), acrylic, polycarbonate, vinyl, corflute and PVC, chosen to suit the location and lifespan you need.

Can you install signs at my location?

Yes. Our team installs on site to suit your requirements.

What is the turnaround time for signage?

Standard turnaround is 5–10 business days from artwork approval. Rush services are available for an additional fee.

Do you offer warranties on signs?

Yes, a 3-year warranty on outdoor signs (the lifespan can vary with which way the sign faces and its sun exposure).
